Abstract
To successfully implement digital transformation, it is necessary to quickly and agilely provide people with lots of data from heterogeneous sources in their context and the numerous dependency chains of their creation and further development. Today's hard-working users no longer want to wait years for the full-bodied promises of monolithic applications. For their day-to-day business, they must be able to satisfy short-term information requirements comprehensively and yet comprehensibly - clearly presented.
Using the example of an automotive OEM, the concept and benefits of a data layer above many engineering and planning systems, which is provided with the help of the CONWEAVER Linksphere solution, are presented.
Relevant metadata can be analysed and aggregated in a flexible information data model - which is directly aligned with the respective processes. The dependencies (links) of the artefacts are continuously calculated and thus feed an information graph. This is stored persistently and thus enables extremely fast provision (in terms of access speed and creation) and traversal across the physical boundaries of the once heterogeneous data sources in lean web apps (e.g. part dashboards, searches, etc.).
In the spirit of "bimodal IT", several use cases were prototyped within a few days as part of a competition and are to be made available to users in 3-6 months.
