Abstract
While PLM can usually be introduced and implemented according to a "manual" in the area of series production, this is not so easy in the area of special machine construction. The presentation clarifies the differences between series production and special machine construction. Subsequently, individual topics (growing parts lists, prototype construction, long runners) will be examined in more detail when introducing PLM.
